1. License
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Blocade for your own non-commercial entertainment, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store / Google Play terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or distribute the app except as allowed by law.
Together with Section 15 ("Apple and Google") below, these Terms serve as Blocade's End User License Agreement (EULA) for the App Store and Google Play.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to use Blocade.
3. Your account
Blocade signs you in with an anonymous account. You may optionally link Sign in with Apple (or, in future, Google) to back up your account and sign in on another device — see our Privacy Policy for what this shares. You are responsible for activity that occurs through your device and account. You may delete your account at any time from More → Settings → Delete Account.
4. Community rules and user content
Blocade lets you choose a display name and play live against other people. The display name is user-generated content visible to other players.
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree that you will not:
•
choose a display name that is hateful, harassing, sexual, threatening, illegal, impersonating, or otherwise offensive;
•
harass, threaten, bully, or abuse other players;
•
cheat, exploit bugs, use unauthorized bots or automation, or otherwise undermine fair play;
•
attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
Enforcement. We filter display names automatically (on the device and on our servers) and review reports. You can report and block any opponent from inside a match (match menu → Report player, or the end-of-match screen). We will review reports of objectionable content and abusive users and act within 24 hours — which may include removing content, resetting a name, suspending, or permanently removing the offending user. By using the app you agree we may take these actions to keep the community safe.
To report abuse you can also email support@playblocade.com.
5. Referrals and invites
Blocade lets you invite friends via a personal invite link or code, and may reward you and/or the friend you invited (for example, temporary Plus access) once they join and play. Rewards have no cash value, are not transferable or redeemable for cash, and are granted at our discretion.
You may not create fake or duplicate accounts, self-refer, or otherwise manipulate the referral system. We may withhold or reclaim a reward, and may suspend an account, if we reasonably believe it was obtained through abuse.
6. Purchases, subscriptions, and renewals
Blocade may offer optional paid features through in-app purchases and/or auto-renewing subscriptions. All purchases are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we do not process payments directly.
•
Price and content of each option are shown in the app before you buy.
•
Auto-renewing subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
•
Manage or cancel a subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
•
Free trials (if offered): any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
•
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we generally cannot issue refunds directly.
We may change prices or the contents of paid tiers on a prospective basis; changes will not affect a billing period you have already paid for.
7. Fair play, ratings, and matchmaking
Ranked ratings are calculated and stored on our servers and are designed to resist tampering. We may correct, reset, or void ratings and results obtained through cheating, exploits, or abuse.
When a suitable human opponent isn't available, matchmaking may pair you against one of Blocade's own bots — computer-controlled opponents designed to play, and to be presented, like a human opponent, so a match is always available. Bots aren't real people; any name, avatar, or timing behavior shown for a bot opponent is part of the game's presentation, not a real player's.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Blocade available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Online play requires a network connection.
9. Notifications
Blocade can send you push notifications and on-device reminders — for example, a reminder when your daily puzzle is waiting or a heads-up before your play streak ends. These are optional and off until you turn them on. You can enable or disable them at any time in the app (Settings → Notifications) or in your device's system notification settings. By enabling them you consent to receiving them; turning them off stops them.
10. Analytics
We use a third-party analytics provider (PostHog) to understand how the app is used (for example, which features players engage with) so we can improve Blocade. This usage data is tied only to your anonymous account, is not used to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and is not used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details on what is collected and why.
11. Intellectual property
The app, its code, design, artwork, and trademarks are owned by the developer or its licensors. These Terms grant you no ownership of the app.
12. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, including the community rules in Section 4. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.
15. Apple and Google
These Terms are between you and the developer, not Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government restricted-parties list.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notice. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer's place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory local consumer law gives you additional rights.
