The Best Quoridor Apps in 2026: An Honest Comparison

Every Quoridor app worth playing in 2026, compared on price, online play, bots and offline support — with real App Store ratings and a disclosure of who wrote this.

Quoridor has never had an official app, so the digital versions are all made by other people — a dozen of them on the App Store alone, most free, and varying enormously in polish. This is a comparison of the ones worth your time, with real ratings rather than impressions.
Disclosure
We make Blocade, one of the apps on this list. So read this knowing that. We've included the App Store rating for every app, including ours, and Barricade is currently rated higher than we are — you should know that too. If you only want the numbers, the comparison table below has them without commentary.

The short answer

Best overall polish: Barricade — the highest-rated of the mobile versions, with online play and a review tool.
Best free online play with puzzles: Blocade — ours, covered honestly below.
Best for playing the real tabletop crowd: Board Game Arena in a browser, not an app.
Best for kids: Animal Quoridor.
Best if you want no account at all: any browser version, such as CrazyGames or quoridor.io.

Barricade: Strategy Board Game

The best-reviewed Quoridor app on iOS at the time of writing, with a 4.87 average across 213 ratings. It's free, runs on iOS and Android, and covers the things a regular player wants: online 1v1, a computer opponent, local pass-and-play, and a move-by-move review of finished games. Its website also has the rules in fourteen languages, which is more localisation than anyone else in this category has bothered with. If you want the most-liked option and nothing else matters, this is it.

Blocade

Ours, so treat the description as fact and the enthusiasm as ours. Blocade is free on iOS, Android and in a browser with no download or sign-up. It has ranked online matchmaking with an Elo-style rating, bots across a difficulty ladder, a daily puzzle, and a review coach that grades every move of a finished game. Its current App Store rating is 4.02 from 47 ratings, which is both lower and far less established than Barricade's — we're a newer app with a much smaller sample. The browser version is the genuinely distinct part: you can play a full game on a desktop without installing anything.

CranialCrash: Corridor

The most-rated app in this category — 275 ratings at 4.05 — and one of the longest-running. iOS only. Worth a look if you want something that has been around and settled rather than something new.

Animal Quoridor

A child-friendly presentation of the same rules, rated 4.84 across 68 ratings, iOS only. The animal theming does real work here: it is the version to hand to a six-year-old learning the wall rule for the first time.

Quoridor.II

One of the few apps to use the Quoridor name directly, on both iOS and Android. Its 2.97 rating across 39 ratings is the lowest here, and reviews focus on the interface rather than the rules, which it implements correctly.

Board Game Arena (browser)

Not an app, but the answer for a particular kind of player. Board Game Arena runs licensed implementations of hundreds of tabletop games including Quoridor, with turn-based play over days and an established community of tabletop players. If you want opponents who own the physical game, this is where they are.

How to choose

1.
Do you want to play right now, without installing anything? Use a browser version.
2.
Do you want the most-liked mobile app? Barricade, on ratings.
3.
Do you want ranked play with a rating that moves? Barricade or Blocade both do this; Board Game Arena does it for the tabletop crowd.
4.
Are you teaching a child? Animal Quoridor.
5.
Do you want to know why you lost? Barricade and Blocade both have post-game review.
If you are not sure these are all the same game: they are. See Blocade vs Quoridor vs Barricade for how the names relate, or the rules if you have never played.

Quoridor apps: frequently asked questions

Is there an official Quoridor app?

No. Gigamic publishes the physical board game but there is no official app, so every digital version is an independent implementation of the same public rules.

What is the best free Quoridor app?

On App Store rating, Barricade (4.87 from 213 ratings as of 20 July 2026). Blocade is the only one that also plays in a browser with no download. Both are free.

Can you play Quoridor online against other people?

Yes. Barricade, Blocade, CranialCrash and Quoridor.II all have online play, and Board Game Arena runs turn-based games in a browser.

Are Barricade and Quoridor the same game?

They use the same rules. Quoridor is the 1997 Gigamic board game; Barricade is an unaffiliated mobile app built on the same race-and-wall idea. See our full comparison.

Is there a Quoridor app for Android?

Yes — Barricade, Blocade and Quoridor.II are all on Google Play. Several iOS-only options, including Animal Quoridor and CranialCrash, have no Android release.
